It’s 2035 and the world is on the verge of chaos. When Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launches on PS5 and PS4 on November 14, players will face new and recurring threats in the co-op Campaign, culminating in a replayable Endgame experience.
With the game’s launch just days away, let’s take a closer look at the story so far, followed by more Endgame information.
Cooperative Campaign and Endgame
In Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, PlayStation players will experience an innovative Co-op Campaign that transforms the Black Ops experience. Team up or go solo across a wide spectrum of high-risk missions.
From the neon-lit rooftops of Japan to the shores of the Mediterranean, discover the truth behind The Guild and the weapon that threatens to turn fear into a weapon of war. Players will also experience Avalon, a sprawling city whose secrets are scattered throughout the Campaign.
One of the main goals of Black Ops 7’s story was to tell a story that could stand on its own while honoring the series’ legacy. Throughout development, there were significant opportunities to allow for the reconnection of characters and storylines from previous Black Ops titles, bringing them into a future where their presence could enhance the experience. However, it’s important to ensure that even players with no knowledge of Black Ops can expect a very immersive and connected story and world.
After completing the first 11 co-op Campaign missions, players unlock Endgame, a replayable co-op experience designed for 1–32 players in squads of up to four.
Fight through increasing exposure zones throughout Avalon, level up Skill Tracks and Combat Ratings, complete dynamic Assignments, and escape to maintain your hard-earned progress, all while gaining Weapon Levels and XP and unlocking Weapon Camos.
Endgame Journey
Your C-Link COMBAT OS unlocks full Loadout customization. Your main goal is to gain enough power to reach the highest exposure zone, where something is leaking large amounts of poison into the Avalon.
Players start by selecting a Major and Minor Operator and Ability, determining your Operator’s unique approach to combat, including abilities like Hand Cannon, Active Camo, Grappling Hook, and more.
Complete your Loadout, deploy, and gain strength in matches by completing objectives and defeating enemies to increase your Operator Combat Rating. As your Combat Rank rises, you are given the opportunity to choose one of two Skill Paths or Skills. This skill continues to grow as your Operator Combat Rating increases over time to a max level of 60.
There are six Skill Paths in all, ranging from Gunner with Skills like increased Reload Speed and Fast Weapon Swap to Surgeon with Skills like improved Health Restore and Rapid Revival.
If you are killed in action, you lose everything. Get in, turn it on, and get out.
The story so far
Starting with Menendez, the returning Call of Duty®: Black Ops 2 villain threatens to plunge the world back into darkness.
Raul Menendez
“Once again, you will feel fear.” —Raul Menendez
Raul Menendez first appeared in 1986 as the leader of the Menendez Cartel. He had captured CIA agent Frank Woods and left him for dead. When Alex Mason learned of his friend’s plight, he left his son David to save Woods.
Woods wants revenge, getting the green light to attack the criminal’s house. In the chaos of the fighting, Woods threw a grenade into the house, accidentally killing Menendez’s sister, Josefina.
Several years later, Menendez retaliated by tricking Woods into shooting Alex Mason. The villain then blew up both of Woods’ knees, paralyzing him. When Menendez suffered, now Woods suffers too.
Menendez then formed the Cordis Die political movement, spreading propaganda that portrayed the organization as a global defender of the poor while secretly inciting a second Cold War.
Alex Mason’s son David, with Woods’ help, was finally able to stop Menendez. After a multi-generational manhunt, he put his villain to rest… or so he thought.
The next frontier: the Guild

As the world is shocked by the news of Menendez’s return, The Guild, a global technology giant led by CEO Emma Kagan, rises to the challenge of defending humanity, promising peace through security using advanced technology to protect citizens and openly opposing Menendez and his followers.
The fight continues: David and JSOC
Although both were enemies of Menendez, David Mason harbored doubts about The Guild’s true motives. It’s up to him and his group of elite JSOC Operators to find out the truth of it all, including reports of a weapon designed to turn fear into an instrument of chaos.
