After five months of renewal of initial access and playtesting, I am happy to present a full release of Midnight Murder Club.

I am Eric Feurstein, Game Director at the Midnight Murder Club from Velan Studios. The first thing is the first, I would like to thank everyone who participated in all open beta, playtests and initial access phases of the Midnight Murder Club. Without all of you hunting with each other in the Pitch Black Hall in Manor Wormwood, we can’t get a game in the place that should be. And for anyone who joined us for the first time. Let me be the first to welcome you at the Midnight Murder Club. Tuck your mask, turn on your flashlight, take your pistol, and invite your friends … Shadows are waiting.

You are invited with respect …

Midnight Murder Club is a hiding game, searching, and shooting on a black mansion. We want to make the first person’s shooter that feels the same as a party game, where it is tense and scary one moment, then chaotic and funny in the next.

When you are alone in the dark, sound becomes everything. With our dynamic closeness chat, every whisper, screams, and footsteps give the position of your enemy and yourself. And while your flashlight gives you information, it also paints the target on your back to anyone nearby. Half pleasure is the calculation of risks: Do you reverse your light, hoping to surprise someone, or do you remain in the dark, hoping that others give their position first? Either way, when the smoke gun cleaned and the corpses were hit the floor, laughter filling the room when the tension was released and the players were in the darkness, planning their revenge.

Co-op pve mode: graveyard shift

With today’s release, we are proud to introduce new game modes: Graveyard Shift. Graveyard shift can be played by single players or with friends. At Graveyard Shift, you have to look for shadows for damned gold relics hidden throughout the mansion. Once found, you must quickly bring them back to the waiting ward to wait and throw it to the place that will be cleaned from the curse and you will be valued with a blessing. Meanwhile, demons from the depth of hell will hunt you, trying to prevent you cleaning the curse.

Tangkari Satan like a burning skull that flew in the air and exploded into a giant fireball, or the shadow of a man who was completely invisible except their shadow, hiding behind the door to stab you from the darkness, or hunters who had night vision, knife, and thirst for your blood.

Clean the cursed relics and accept the rewards that push back the shadows, too long and the mansion will be more and more condemned to make your work more difficult. Look for shadows, defeat the devil, and clean the cursed artifacts from the mansion.

Shake the rules with wildcard

Wildcards is a game mode specifically designed for Midnight Murder Club that allows you to bend and violate the rules of the game based on a set of the selected card before the round. With a dozen cards categorized into fun game mode, strange toys, thanks to helping, and curses punishing, there are millions of wild combinations waiting to be experienced.

For example, playing Trouble Trouble Bear Wildcard fills a mansion with a bear trap that locks you in its place and makes you a duck sitting. The wildcard of the falling lamps gives you the ability to install the chandelier to the sky that falls on anyone who walks below it. With the Wildcard the fire trap was activated, every murder exploded the victim in a giant fireball that caught anyone around him who was burned to the murder of an unexpected chain reaction. Wildcard Shrink Shot gives you a second chance of life because when you are shot, you shrink to half a size, complete with a shrill sound to match.

The mixture and matching of Wildcard allows you to find fun new ways to play with your friends.

Play with your friends, at home

We designed the Midnight Murder Club to play with friends, and we know how difficult it is to convince your group of friends to buy new games. That’s why we want to try something new with a guest pass.

By graduating guests, only one person needs to have a game so that others join the pleasure without additional costs.

Players can download the Guest Pass edition of the Midnight Murder Club on Playstation 5 or Steam at no cost and join the full buyer through the invitation or code lobby*. Play together as long as you want in any mode.

Welcome to the club

Midnight Murder Club began as a strange idea that I had almost 10 years ago to this day. Back in 2015, I hacked a small prototype in my room and sent an email to my friends to play together. I never really know what will happen and a decade later I finally decided to throw it into the velan and really amazing how more people saw the potential for strange ideas about a shooter in the dark.

In some ways, this game is very similar to the small prototype, but also very different thanks to all the feedback that we received during the Award Access and various playtest with everyone. Very few people can enjoy the feeling of giving the idea of this game, seeing it growing, and then playing games with the public as we have with Midnight Murder Club.
