Roblox got a big upgrade today with the launch of our native app for PlayStation 5. Built specifically for PS5, this version of Roblox is smoother and more responsive, with up to 30% faster load times. To celebrate the release, we sat down with the creators of Roblox’s most popular games to learn everything they’ve done to give you the best experience on PS5.
Designed for consoles
While Roblox makes it easy to publish across multiple platforms, every creator we spoke with wanted to make sure their games felt as fun to play on a controller as they do anywhere else. This means changing things like menu navigation to button layout, and in some cases, this even inspires the creation of entirely new systems. Just ask Wingboy0, creator of competitive 3D melee fighter Duel Arena. In a game where a party at the right time can be the difference between victory and defeat, getting control right is a top priority.
“While Dueling Grounds was still in early development, I spent a lot of time testing other console games on Roblox to better understand what players wanted from a high-quality action game,” said Wingboy0. “This led me to build a camera lock system so you don’t have to constantly readjust your facing position. You can focus completely on fighting your opponent.”
Just as important as the controls is finding smart ways for cross-platform players to communicate with each other. Take, for example, BlushCrunch Studio’s hit roguelike and mascot-horror game Dandy’s World. When a Twisted approaches a fellow Toon, the last thing you want is to find a way to warn them. That’s where stickers come in handy.
“Typing quickly on a console isn’t easy, so we created a way for players to chat and emote using stickers,” said Dandy’s World lead engineer KingMobMedia.
JoeyStix, president of BlushCrunch, continued, “[The sticker system] is a huge win for us, as it means console players can now communicate with mobile and PC players as easily as using a keyboard.”
Those are just some of the ways Wingboy0, KingMobMedia, and JoeyStix approach console development. And that’s just the start—now that Roblox is available natively on PS5, they have even more opportunities to add extra layers to your experience thanks to the DualSense controller’s advanced haptics. We can’t wait to see what they come up with.
A new level of detail
DualSense is just one part of what makes PS5 an attractive platform for studios, indie teams, and solo creators on Roblox. Visually, the PS5 is also a chance to show off their games in a new way. Case in point: NFL Universe Football. If you’ve never played it, it’s the only officially licensed arcade football game on Roblox where you can join your friends and hit the gridiron together as your favorite NFL team. We asked Voldex, the studio behind the game, to tell us what they’re most looking forward to as Roblox offers native PS5 support.
“NFL Universe Football already feels great on console, so being able to take it to the next level with the added power and performance of PS5 is really exciting,” said clxr, lead engineer at Voldex.
itsjtech, Senior Product Manager at Voldex, agreed, and stated that they could add more content to the game without worrying about poor performance: “The door is wide open for us to test the boundaries of what’s possible. I’m really excited to see how we can push our visuals even further.”
If you’re looking for something a little more scary, Scary Shawarma Stand has you covered. This is a cult favorite horror game where you work the night shift serving increasingly strange and disturbing customers, while keeping an eye out for spooky anomalies. That spooky atmosphere is even more pronounced on PS5, creators kharbor_ykt and Graizorko tell us.
“We finally have a platform that allows players to experience the game the way we envisioned it,” they said. “The atmosphere looks clearer on more powerful hardware.”
Something for everyone
For many players on PS5, this will be their first real look at how much Roblox has grown over the years. And all the content creators we spoke to were ready to make a lasting impression.
“Dandy’s World is truly accessible to casual players, but there’s a lot of depth for hardcore players as well,” said JoeyStix. “We have over 40 original characters to collect and master, each with their own unique abilities. And with procedurally generated floors and other gameplay elements, every round is different from the last.”
“I think anyone who hasn’t tried Roblox will be very surprised by what’s built on the platform,” itsjtech said. “The characters in NFL Universe Football may look blocky, but the quality of the gameplay speaks for itself. People are surprised when they realize it’s on Roblox.”
“We hope to reach players who love the horror atmosphere and console games, but haven’t previously considered Roblox as a platform for them,” the creators of Scary Shawarma Kiosk told us.
Dueling Grounds creator Wingboy0 said, “The animation, the effort put into every detail… I think PlayStation players will be really impressed with what they find.”

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
