Kiln, the online multiplayer pottery party brawler, coming to PS5 in 2026 – PlayStation.Blog

Greetings, budding potter, and welcome to the world of Kilns! A game we call a ‘pottery power fantasy’. It celebrates Creativity And Destruction: the pleasure derived from making beautiful things…and then smashing those beautiful things to smithereens!

In Kiln you’ll join a team of colorful spirits, then you and your friends will face off against opposing teams in online arenas, where the ceramic creations you sculpt on a pottery wheel become the bodies you take onto the battlefield.

But before you jump into the fray to destroy the opposing team’s pots, you’ll need to create your own ceramic masterpiece. And you’re in luck, because Kiln brings a best-in-class pottery wheel simulation experience for you to create all kinds of vessels, each as special and unique as you are (and maybe even more so).

You’ll spend a lot of time in the lobby with Kiln, The Wedge. Here, you can practice your pottery prowess, decorate your pots, and then share your creations with others (and admire their work, too).

The first important decision is: how much clay will you use? Small, medium and large portions are available, and each size has benefits and challenges, for example: small pots can roll faster and fit into small holes in the map walls; Large pots can block enemy lanes or squares.

Once the size is determined, you can start letting your imagination run wild! Manipulate the clay with your cute little spirit hands, use tools to change the texture of your pots, and experiment with a variety of different shape archetypes—like jugs, plates, vases, and more. Finally it was time for the finishing touches, chosen from a large selection of pottery themed cosmetics.

Topper: We’ve got frog tops for your teapot, daisies for your vases, little umbrellas for your tiki mugs, and more.

Spout and Handle: Want to pour? From traditional teapots to tentacled terrors, we’re sure you’ll find a spout to suit your ceramics. And if you’re not a fan of spouts, perhaps a handle is more your style?

Charm: These pieces attach in a pattern around your pot, and there are various types of attachments to try. You can add subtle lines of hearts, clovers, stars, or skulls to your creations, or you can go a little wilder with crustacean claws, sharp horns, or even gold-plated kintsugi crackles!

Glaze: This is when a good pot gets really good—a multitude of glaze options await you to dip them in, including glitter, gradients, patterns, and more.

Sticker: Rotate, scale, and place your favorites into pots, and make those beautiful containers sing with individuality!

If you’re hungry for more options, you’ll definitely want to talk to Slip (he’s a super cute dog who runs customization shop The Wedge). Winning matches earns you chips, and you can take them to the Slip to spend on all kinds of new stickers, glass, and more. Don’t spend it all in one place!

The shape of your pot influences your attributes and playing style. Are you big or small? Wide or tall? Are you going to make a plate, jug, cup, or bowl? There are 24 different combinations of pot sizes and shapes, each with unique special abilities. A small bottle can turn into a stick of dynamite and throw itself into battle; a small plate can be hit like a hockey puck into a group of enemies. Want to hold a chicken tower that blasts enemies with high-speed eggs? Make a small cup and go crazy!

We’re excited for you to get to know the various abilities and their impact on gameplay, so we won’t give away all the combinations…but let’s just say that if you’re dying to turn into an exploding popcorn bucket, a sword-wielding adventurer, or a pie for your opponent’s face, we recommend clay in moderation.

Or, if you like the idea of being an imposing figure on the battlefield with abilities like a spinning galaxy of doom or a giant cauldron of deadly brew to throw around, then stick a big ball of clay on your wheel and start shaping.

For you and your allies to win on the battlefield, you have to know how the game is played.

The main mode is called Quench, it is a fast-paced 4v4 competition where teams must work together to find the best combination of pots and playing styles, collect water in their respective pots, break through enemy lines, and extinguish the fires of enemy kilns.

This is easier said than done. Each map has a series of interesting features and environmental events that can help or hinder your progress, plus you’ll fend off the enemy team from extinction. yours kiln too.

Does your team have what it takes to make it happen And smash your way to victory? As the battlefield fills with fragments of friend and foe, great fighting skills and teamwork will be needed to guarantee victory. And don’t worry if you get crushed! That’s what glue and respawn are for. We’ll have you back out there splashing and destroying enemies in no time.

Build your team, destroy your enemies

We can’t wait for you to grab some friends and give Kiln a try—and if you need a teammate, our online matchmaking system will help you fill out your roster of pottery boxers.

There’s only one thing missing from Kiln—you! We’re giving players a chance to try Kiln early with a series of beta tests leading up to launch.

Not only can you play before anyone else (some bragging rights), you can also give us feedback on your gaming experience and help shape the future of Kiln. It’s easy to register, just visit our official site to get started.

Get excited for the throwdown, see you at The Wedge!
