Marathon is an upcoming PvPvE survival extraction FPS from the creators of Halo and Destiny. Play as a bio-cybernetic Runner and join a crew of three or run solo as you face hostile security forces, rival Runners and unpredictable environments. Scavenge abandoned facilities and rugged landscapes for valuables, weapons, and information about what happened to a lost colony light years from Earth.*

The new trailer is narrated by Gantry, a faction agent of the anti-establishment group MIDA. Each of Marathon’s six factions offers unique contracts for you to complete. Survive their life-threatening missions to unlock new stories and rewards through six unique faction upgrade trees.

Use every tool at your disposal—including faction upgrades, weapons, mods, Runner shells, and game-changing implants—to reach higher levels, like the game’s end-zone Cryo Archives.

Unlocked in Season 1, the Cryo Archive is the first deck aboard the UESC Marathon, where you’ll complete security measures to unseal a frozen vault… and ultimately challenge an entity aboard that even the UESC fears.

Revealing the Marathon Limited Edition DualSense controller

Today, we’re sharing a first look at the new limited edition Marathon-inspired DualSense controller to take with you on every high-stakes run. This limited edition design was created in close collaboration with the team at Bungie, who shared the following information about the design process:

“We’re excited for the opportunity to commemorate the launch of Marathon with a limited edition design that will excite our fans and our team, and feel like a real part of the world we’re building, something that can exist naturally alongside other objects in the game and feel functional, grounded and authentic to the world of Marathon.

We set out to create a design that pays homage to the bold graphic design, bright colors, and visual art direction of the game as well as its industrial design, architecture, and environmental surfaces and equipment. The result is a design that reflects the world’s balance between form and function, where clean lines, directional markings and clear accents combine to create a futuristic and believable impression.”

Win battles and exfiltrate with the DualSense – Marathon Limited Edition wireless controller, dressed in bold graphics and fractured shapes inspired by the futuristic world of Marathon. This controller launches from March 6, 2026 and will be available in limited quantities priced at SGD 119 / MYR 419 / THB 2,890 / Rp. 1,549,000 / PHP 4,890 / VND 2,399,000.** Pre-orders will begin on January 29, 2026 at participating retailers. Release date and availability may vary by country/region.

Marathon and Collector’s Edition pre-orders are available now

Marathon was released on March 6, 2026 and is available as a Standard Edition and a Deluxe Edition. The Deluxe Edition includes the Midnight Decay weapon and Runner shell cosmetic bundle, plus additional gifts.

Pre-orders are available now. Pre-ordering Marathon will unlock additional rewards, including weapon cosmetics and additional rewards for Destiny 2 linked to your Bungie.net account.

Bungie also launched Marathon’s Collector’s Edition, featuring a premium unboxing experience inspired by Sekiguchi Genetics’ shell weaving process. Opening the Collector’s Edition box reveals a 1/6 scale Thief Runner Shell statue, a collectible WEAVEworm miniature, digital gifts, and more.
