Lorex launches new security cameras and 4K video doorbells


Canadian company Lorex has launched a new security camera and smart doorbell model. This includes 2K dual lens indoor camera and the new one 4K battery powered video doorbell. They provide greater security for users. The device also offers seamless integration with smart home systems.

Wider coverage thanks to the 2K dual lens camera

First of all, as the name suggests, the Lorex 2K dual lens camera is equipped with two high definition sensors. As a result, this model offers wider coverage, with the option to monitor two separate areas simultaneously. To extend the reach, one of the lenses rests on a rotating axis to offer a 360° panoramic view. The company points out that its automatic tracking capabilities have been improved. All this allows better monitoring of moving objects.

The camera can recognize, for example, the movement of pets, children or people who need help. Presets can be defined for instant navigation through multiple zones without the need to swipe manually. This new model produces images with precise 2K resolution, ensuring every detail is captured. Clarity extends into the night, with the ability to record clear nighttime images, even in total darkness.

Improved privacy and security

Combined with the two-way conversation function, users can communicate directly with the person or animal on the other end of the camera. It is also possible to press a button to instantly disable recording of both cameras. What’s more, the company offers the opportunity to store videos directly on a local microSD card instead of using cloud storage.

Lorex has also announced its first smart video doorbell with 4K resolution. It includes a vertically rotating wide-angle lens that offers a full view from head to toe. At night, the doorbell offers color and infrared night vision. Users have added options and convenience thanks to its two power modes. They can use the internal battery directly, which can last for months, or use a wired connection.

Equipped with a smart LED security call button, this doorbell further deters unwanted people thanks to its long viewing distance. There is also a Nightlight feature that can illuminate your front door when movement is detected, or even programmed at a certain time. This doorbell comes with a 64 GB microSD card, offering up to 6 months of storage, as well as access to all functions without additional subscription fees.

Integration with your smart home system

Whether it’s an indoor camera or the new video doorbell from Lorex, both devices integrate seamlessly with your smart home system. Currently, the product supports voice assistance via Amazon Alexa or even Google Assistant. You can also combine it with a smart bulb, for example, to make the light flash when someone knocks on the door.
